Portfolio

Over the last 20 years of user experience work in UX, I have accumulated experience in a number of sectors. I provide a few samples here :

TD – DIRECT INVESTING

TD – WEBBROKER WATERHOUSE

CANADA POST – TRACK-A-PACKAGE FEATURE

GALE PARTNERS – BMO ONBOARDING PROJECT

PERSONAL CALCULATOR PROJECT

TD – DIRECT INVESTING

Problem

TD required an improvement in the customer experience and client acquisition of their Direct Investing products marketing pages.

Solution

In addition to the various exercises in the discovery phase and lots of whiteboarding, I helped with the initial Information Architecture which included the development of Content Inventories (Content Matrices) and Site Maps.  I also guided the team of BAs and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to  develop Customer Journey Maps or Customer Experience Maps divided into the various Personas we were trying to attract to the site.

In terms of the Responsive ReDesign which I was a part of, I developed wireframes and prototypes in a combination of Axure and Adobe Photoshop, for mobile, desktop and tablet. I worked closely with the Visual Designer, to create low and high fidelity prototypes for the final look and feel based on the established UI design patterns central to the TD UX Design Process.

Finally, I conducted and sat through hours and hours, days upon days, of usability testing with participants in a lab setting to make sure the design worked as expected.  Through the one way mirror, our team observed basic frustrations with the site and adjusted our design accordingly.

The results of the redesign were a 8% increase in click-through acquisitions.

TD – WEBBROKER – WATERHOUSE

Problem

The TD Waterhouse digital product is the flagship investment product of TD bank.  It is by far the most widely used self-directed investment product in Canada.  Various features needed to be fine-tuned from a UX standpoint, which included the watch list feature which I was assigned to.

Solution

Although I worked and provided feedback on many aspects of the design while adhering to the TD UI Design Component Library for the standardization of the look and feel, I played a primary role in developing the Watch List feature which allowed users to keep track of multiple stocks in their portfolio. I also helped with the development of a Site Map and Site Architecture in the initial Design Phase to organize the many facets of the WebBroker product.

CANADA POST – TRACK-A-PACKAGE FEATURE

Problem

At Canada Post I was assigned to the Track A Package feature that is first seen on the new responsive Canada Post Website, for Desktop, Mobile and Tablet.

Solution

I worked with BAs to do a competitive analysis along with my own design skills and created a unique, functional and effective method for Canada Post clients to enter their tracking number as easily as possible and read their package’s real-time tracking data.  I had to make sure this design would work responsively for mobile, tablet, and desktop.

GALE PARTNERS – BMO ONBOARDING PROJECT

Problem

BMO required a new on-boarding process for its clients and their bank vault related BMO TPS services. I was tasked with helping Gale Partners develop a user interface that would be user friendly and easy to use.

Solution

I developed a highly interactive clickable wireframe prototype for BMOs on-boarding process.  This meant coming up with an inital “Wizard” design process to gently guide the client through the many forms they would be meant to feel in an easy and even “fun” way as you can see from the wizard at the top of the screen.  This meant designing and creating over 26 detailed interactive prototype pages that are fully clickable and obey business rules.  I worked closely with a BA on a daily basis in an Agile process as changes and updates would be needed from close meetings with the client, BMO.  Note: some of the click throughs obey business logic rules, and required logical programming which I did on the back end in Axure to make sure they would work just as in the final product.

PERSONAL CALCULATOR PROJECT

I was bored one day and decided to challenge myself to create a fully functional calculator in the prototyping software Axure.  I shared it on the Axure community boards. Here is the result:
